What is the difference between HEMP and MARIJUANA?
“Hemp” is the term used to classify cannabis plants that contain 0.3% or less of the THC cannabinoid, while “Marijuana” is is the term used to classify a cannabis plant that contain more than 0.3% of the THC cannabinoid. Marijuana is known to create euphoric and intoxicating effects.
55plus uses THC-free broad-spectrum hemp oil, which does not give you a feeling of being “high.”
How does CBD work in the body?
CBD, like other cannabinoids in the hemp plant, interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Our bodies use the endocannabinoid system to help maintain homeostasis. Homeostasis can be thought of as a “Goldilocks zone,” a comfy middle range in which our bodies run just right. A well-functioning ECS is essential to our health and well-being, as the ECS is thought to be involved in regulating biological processes such as memory formation, appetite, coordination of movement, and possibly control of emotion.
How do CBD topicals work?
CBD topicals work by interacting with the body's endocannabinoid system through receptors in the skin. When applied, they target localized pain and inflammation without entering the bloodstream. The CBD binds to receptors, reducing pain, inflammation, and discomfort. Find out more here.
Why use broad spectrum hemp oil instead of isolate?
We opt for broad-spectrum hemp oil because it is extracted from aerial parts of the hemp plant (the parts exposed to air), containing naturally occurring CBD, essential terpenes, and other beneficial plant compounds that support your health. In contrast, CBD isolate, known as "pure CBD," lacks additional active compounds. In order to provide our consumers with a more beneficial product, we decided to use broad-spectrum hemp oil instead of a single isolate.
Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum: What's the difference?
Full Spectrum CBD retains all naturally occurring compounds from the cannabis plant, including trace amounts of THC (typically less than 0.3%). Whereas, Broad Spectrum CBD contains multiple cannabinoids and terpenes but no detectable THC, offering a balanced and effective option for users. Find out more here.
What is an ideal serving size?
Everyone reacts differently to hemp products and it takes a bit of experimentation to find the serving size that is most beneficial for you. Many of our clients begin with a single 25mg serving of the 55plus softgels, gummies, or tinctures per day and find that this dosage works for their needs.
Consistently using our product every day and maintaining the same serving size for a full week is the most effective method to determine the ideal dosage for you and your needs.
At 55plus, we're committed to providing you with the knowledge and support needed to make informed decisions about incorporating CBD into your health regimen. If you have any further questions or need additional guidance, we are happy to offer free personalized consultations.

What should I be looking for in a quality hemp product? What are some possible red flags?
When looking for a quality hemp product or supplement, you should determine the following:
Where it’s sourced
Hemp that is imported from other countries or purchased from growers who are less focused on organic approaches could contain harmful substances. Double check where the manufacturer is sourcing their hemp oil.
THC level
“Hemp” is the term used to classify cannabis plants that contain 0.3% or less of the THC cannabinoid. Any cannabis plant containing more than 0.3% of the THC cannabinoid is considered “marijuana” and is illegal on the federal level.
How much CBD in the product
Some companies mislead their customers into thinking their products contain more HEMP CBD than they do. It is important to seek out proof, ideally from third-party lab test results, that the hemp product contains the amount of HEMP CBD stated on the label. The certificate of analysis (COA) should be made readily available.
Lab Test Results
It’s one thing for a brand to claim its products are potent and consistent. It’s quite another to have those claims backed up by third-party testing. Check with the manufacturer to see whether their products are lab tested for potency and purity. Review the certificate of analysis (COA) for pesticides, heavy metals or molds.
Quality of ingredients
Consult the list of ingredients to determine whether the product contains any synthetic flavoring, colors, or sweeteners.
